Sri Raghavendra Swami was Born to Sri Thimanna and Smt Gopikambaal on Thursday, During Sukla Navami, Mrigashirsha Nakshatra in the year 1595 at Bhuvanagiri (Present Day Chidambaram).
Parents Named Sri as Venkata Nathan and later became known as Sri Raghavendra.
Sri Raghavendra was Naturally gifted with Brilliant knowledge and Talents. Sri also excelled in performing arts. Initially started his Education under his Father and when father deceased , had to go to Madurai and continued his studies under brother-in-law supervision. In 1614 Returned to Marry Saraswathy Ammal and Had a son Named Lakshmi Narashimmacharya. Later they shifted to Kumbakonam.
Sri Venkatanatha studied vedantham and sanskrit under Sri Sudheendra Theerthar and Mastered in both. Sri became a great teacher in Vedantham and Sanskrit and taught others for free.
Sri Venkatanatha was very involved in Praising God and providing service to people. Impressed with this level of commitment Sri was asked to become Sanyasi by his Guru. At the beginning was Reluctant but in 1621 Sri became a Sanyasi with the blessing of Goddes Saraswathi at Thanjavur .
Once his Guru passed away Sri Raghavendra took over the leadership of the Ashram.
With his knowledge and Power, He did many Good Things to the people. In 1671 Sri Raghavendra Attained Jeeva Samadhi in the Presence of thousands of Spectators in Raghavendra Brindhavanam Situated in the Mantra Temple.
